Crete Holidays, Greece
Overview
Lying midway between Athens and Africa, Crete is the largest of the Greek islands, and thanks to its southerly position the summers are longer and warmer too. The island has much more to offer than just beaches, for a start, 4000 years of civilisation have left a legacy of world class archaeological sites and made the island fiercely independent, with its own dialect, customs and music. The liveliest places are Hersonissos and Malia, with enough nightlife between them to keep visitors entertained but if it’s a more relaxing holiday you are after Stalis offers a much slower pace of life with charming local tavernas and a selection of bars.
